Conservation Notes
Though this species grows fast it is propably the most popular recreational species, and highly targeted, especially in KZN. It may therefore NOT be sold in KZN, though sale of fish caught by the False Bay treknets and commercial linefishers is allowed in the Western Cape. A closed season applies from 1 Oct to 30 Nov, and minimum size limit of 30cm. It is occasionally imported, and is known as "bluefish" in the USA and "tailor" in Australia
