Umlibo climate advocacy teaching pack
An educational resource for teachers, trainers and learners
If you’re a high-school or post-matric teacher, a trainer at an NGO, an adult educator, or a leader in the field of environmental studies and an advocate for climate awareness, download these teaching tools for a ready-made course on climate awareness and sustainable livelihoods.
When WWF teamed up with 43 rural artists from the Keiskamma Art Project in the tiny village of Hamburg on the east coast of South Africa, science and art came together in the form of a vivid and detailed hand-embroidered artwork that brings to life the story of climate change and sustainable livelihoods. Next came a beautiful booklet that tells the stories behind the tapestry known as Umlibo, and now, a ready-made educational resource has been developed that can be downloaded for free and which will take teachers, trainers and learners on a journey of discovery to understand more about climate impacts and resilience. The four-lesson course is designed to be interactive and fun as it broadens the minds of the current and next generations.
