Douala, 19 February 2025 — MTN Cameroon and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Cameroon are pleased to announce the launch of the Cameroon PachiPanda Innovation Challenge on 19 February 2025.
This initiative aims to inspire young individuals and youth-led SMEs to propose tech-based innovations that address current environmental challenges and promote sustainable practices in areas such as waste management, energy and water resilience, as well as community development.

Submissions for the competition are open online from 19 to 28 February 2025. After this, the top 10 projects will be selected, and their creators will undergo a 4-week training program as part of an incubation process. These finalists will then compete in a final pitch event, where a jury will announce the winner, as well as the first and second runners-up. The winners will receive cash prizes of XAF 3 million, 2 million, and 1.5 million, respectively.
The Cameroon PachiPanda Innovation Challenge is part of a broader Pan-African Innovation Challenge, a joint effort by MTN and WWF to inspire and support innovative solutions that address pressing environmental issues across the continent. The three winning teams from Cameroon will qualify to compete at the continental level against other national champions in the Pan-African Innovation Challenge.

The Cameroon PachiPanda Challenge is more than just a competition; it is a platform for change. MTN is encouraging Cameroonian youths to think beyond traditional boundaries to develop sustainable solutions that address current and future challenges and contribute to the well-being of their communities. This is an opportunity to make a real difference, and we cannot wait to see what our talented participants will achieve,” declared Mitwa Ng’ambi, Chief Executive Officer of MTN Cameroon.

"The Cameroon PachiPanda Challenge provides a platform for young people to unleash their creativity in crafting sustainable solutions, fostering the growth of innovative green enterprises, and reinforcing WWF's dedication to safeguarding the environment", added Alain Ononino, World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Cameroon Country Director.
