Join an Earth Hour Adventure dash on 30 March 2019

Get into the spirit of Earth Hour with family or friends by participating in an orienteering-style adventure dash in one of South Africa’s most beautiful national botanical gardens.

Following on two successive years of successful Earth Hour ‘dashes’, WWF with the support of Virgin Active will again be hosting Earth Hour Adventure events at the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden in Cape Town and, for the first time this year, in the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden in Roodepoort, Johannesburg.

The events, which are particularly popular with families, will kick off at 6pm on 30 March 2019, after which participants will navigate their way by headlamps to hidden check points dotted across a 5km course in the gardens. After all the action, everyone will be encouraged to spread a picnic blanket on the lawns and enjoy entertainment under the stars while marking the actual Earth Hour while basking in the knowledge they’ve done their bit for nature – and had some fun while doing so.

The MCs for the evening will be media personality ProVerb in Johannesburg and celebrity presenter Zoë Brown in Cape Town respectively.

The Earth Hour Adventure events are fundraisers for WWF-SA and are sponsored by Virgin Active. Funds raised go towards supporting WWF’s work to continue conservation efforts for nature for you. Tickets cost R180 per adult and R100 per child and will be sold through Quicket at the links below:
