A man walks the Boland Cellars vineyards

Boland Cellar

Boland Cellar is a well-established producer cellar located in the beautiful Paarl region of the majestic Cape Winelands.

Boland Cellar is committed to sustainable wine production and promotes regenerative farming practices for improving soil health. Their focus on water conservation in cellar practices, as well as improved energy efficiency and waste reduction, was awarded the distinction in the environmental certification scheme of the wine industry.

Boland Cellar works with WWF to further expand their environmental commitments to include their majority share supplying farms where the team identify ecologically sensitive areas such as wetlands and rivers, and the restoration of these areas through targeted alien vegetation clearing can be factored into the management of the farm as part of an integrated conservation plans. It recently released its new Reserve Range which is a collection of varietal wines named after a plant or animal species associated with the vineyard of origin.

Through the sales of the new Reserve range, which conveys the cellar’s passion for biodiversity and sustainable practices, the winery shares the interesting stories of local natural treasures with wine lovers while also investing in the conservation of these species. Boland Cellar also commits a percentage of the profits from the sales of their Reserve Range wine to restoration initiatives, such as the Forests for Life initiative with partner organisation Greenpop which has supported the replanting of over 600 trees to date in the Platbos forest.
