Cavalli Estate

Situated in the Helderberg region of Stellenbosch, with over 100 hectares of sprawling vineyards, the Cavalli Estate strongly upholds the concept of sustainable farming and conservation of endangered species in the Cape Floral Kingdom.

The wine estate has put aside four hectares of their land for conserving the critically endangered renosterveld vegetation. They are also planting thousands of indigenous plants with the aim to attract endemic wildlife species and birds to the area, which currently has over 70 bird species.

Other sustainability practices on the farm include a strong focus on energy and water efficiency, management of waste and recycling, and ensuring natural ventilation. Their restaurant supports ethical and sustainable practices, and they source from meat suppliers who employ pasture-raised farming, and from seafood suppliers who sell wild-caught and WWF-SASSI green-listed species.

Sustainable viticultural practices are integral to the Cavalli ethos, and as such they also manage and oversee the development of the vineyards in a way that is healthy for people and the environment.
