WWF mourns the passing of Pamela Isdell
WWF is saddened to hear of the passing of one of our ardent supporters and a true patron of conservation, Pamela Isdell.
Our condolences go to her husband Neville, their family, friends and those in the conservation community who knew her.
Pamela Isdell’s name will always be remembered for her social philanthropy and conservation efforts in South Africa, Africa and indeed around the world.
Pamela supported a broad portfolio of nonprofits, among them The Nature Conservancy, Peace Parks South Africa and as a keen birder, was a member of the Birdlife International Advisory Group and an honorary patron of BirdLife South Africa. She was also a member of The Nature Conservancy’s Africa Council and a patron of the Animal Welfare Society in Cape Town.
WWF is particularly grateful to Pamela for her support for our work in the grasslands and our Conservation Champion programme whose 60 participating wine farms are restoring and conserving over 25 000 hectares of Cape Floral Kingdom habitat.
In November last year, WWF awarded Pamela and Neville Isdell the WWF Living Planet Award for their life long contribution to people and nature. We salute Pamela for her lasting legacy, and will remember her well.
