Ms Yako has extensive experience in leadership coaching, organisational change and turnaround strategies - skills she has honed through many years as a reputable authority on leadership and organisational development training while serving as a director general in a number of government departments and as managing director of Zenande Leadership Consulting (Pty) Ltd.
She has been a member of the WWF South Africa Board since January 2019 and serves on the Board’s Nomination Committee and Social Ethics and Transformation Committee.
As an entrepreneur and consultant, she has worked with many organisations in both the public and private sectors. She has held executive positions in the public sector for almost 14 years and has served as a municipal manager and director general for the Department of Environmental Affairs and Tourism and the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry.
She is a member of the Coaches and Mentors Association of South Africa and is an accredited Emotional Maturity Inventory practitioner.
Among her many accomplishments, she holds a BCom (Rhodes University) and Masters in Business Leadership (UNISA) degree. She is a certified coach with the Coach Training Alliance and is trained in Enneagram.
Boasting a broad range of experience, she has chaired the South African Tourism Board, has served as a board member of the Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism Agency Board and serves as chairperson on the Seriti Institute.
She has previously served on the board of Linkd Environmental Services and is also a member of the Institute of Directors.
