Nestled in the biodiverse wine-producing area above Walker Bay in the Hemel-en-Aarde, Creation Wines cultivates its vineyards with the future in mind.
Creation Wine's passion is to conserve the natural environment for generations to come through sound practices that not only maintain but also renew the earth.
The 68-hectare farm has allocated over 15 hectares of their land to conservation. They are also committed to participating in, and supporting, leading scientific initiatives in the wine industry. This includes ClimaVin, a global climate change project spearheaded by Stellenbosch University.
To stay at the forefront of sustainability, Creation Wines are constantly implementing new means of maintaining and protecting the precious ecological balance on their farm. Their regenerative farming approach involves the rehabilitation of natural vegetation and the introduction of wasps and ladybirds to control pests in the vineyards.
They also collaborate with the relatively close-by Grootbos Foundation’s ‘‘Florilegium project’’ to celebrate the area’s botanical heritage.
In addition to being a Conservation Champion, Creation is also one of only nine wineries in South Africa to have received EnviroWines accreditation.
