Third Territorial Dialogue Marks Key Milestone in BIODEV2030 Phase II
Third Territorial Dialogue Marks Key Milestone in BIODEV2030 Phase II
The final territorial dialogue of the BIODEV2030 – Phase II project was held on August 28–29, 2025, in Mintom, South Region of Cameroon, the pilot site for the initiative. The meeting brought together over 30 participants, including government authorities, civil society, private sector actors, technical and financial partners, media, and members of the Indigenous Peoples and Local Community (IPLC).
This dialogue concluded a series of three consultations designed to co-develop a comprehensive project proposal (concept note) for the TRIDOM landscape.
Background
BIODEV2030 Phase II in Mintom was structured around three territorial dialogues.
- First dialogue (May 27–28, 2025): Defined a shared vision for the territory and identified priority actions.
- Second dialogue (June 26–27, 2025): Identified three priority value chains—deforestation-free cocoa, community forests, and Payments for Ecosystem Services (PES)—and developed problem trees and a draft theory of change.
- Third dialogue (August 28–29, 2025): Focused on finalizing these elements and ensuring full stakeholder alignment.
Key Results
The last dialogue achieved several important results:
- The theory of change and logical framework were refined with stakeholder input.
- All stakeholders prioritized the most relevant intermediate changes with strong positive impacts on biodiversity and the livelihoods of the IPLCs, as well as the corresponding activities.
- Participants reaffirmed their commitment to support project implementation.
- The project concept note was further developed and strengthened.
Next Steps
With the territorial dialogues complete, BIODEV2030 Phase II is now ready to move into feasibility studies. The project will promote sustainable production, conserve biodiversity, and strengthen community participation across the TRIDOM landscape.
