In the garden

Water-friendly garden. Make your garden water-wise by planting indigenous drought-resistant plants which require minimal watering.

Only water your garden after 6pm. You will help to reduce unnecessary evaporation.

Channel rain water from gutters into your garden and swimming pool.

Install a grey-water system and rain water tanks at home.

Re-use water from baths, sinks and basins in your garden or toilet cistern.

Make your own compost.

Make your own worm bin.

Fresh vegetables: tomato, cucumber, salad. Eco-tip: eat locally produced vegetables rather than those imported from far away countries to reduce CO2 emmissions and to minimize ecological footprint.
