The WWF is run at a local level by the following offices...
In collaboration with YFM, we challenged the Gauteng youth radio station’s supporters to think differently about how they get from A to B.
The competition, which kicked off on 15 October, in the middle of Transport Month, was designed to inspire motorists to think differently about how they get from A to B and consider more environmentally friendly modes of transport.
Entering the competition was easy. All they had to do was tweet a selfie or video of their carpool squad, follow and tag @WWFSouthAfrica, and use the hashtag #WWFcarpooljam to stand a chance to win R10 000.
From the beginning there was a flurry of entries. Some messages showed that carpooling commuters were money-savvy by choosing to ride shotgun.
Others emphasised the social side of carpooling. If you’re stuck in traffic, it’s much more fun if you’ve got your squad to keep you company.
For these two, it was all about the music…
Environmental concerns were also top of mind. Carpooling reduces the number of cars on the road and means commuters split the carbon footprint of their trip.
But, there could be only one winner.
Congratulations to Fulufhelo Mudau, winner of the #WWFcarpooljam.
